The Exotic Birds design is one of Sofia Marino’s most detailed designs to date. Based on photographs of real birds taken by Sofia on her travels in Hawaii, this design depicts a familiar scene to those who are fortunate enough to have visited the beautiful tropical locations that these birds call home.
The bright, natural colours and historic culture of Hawaii reminded Sofia of the importance of protecting the world’s vibrant ecosystems for future generations, a philosophy which underpins the entire Sofia Marino brand.
This Exotic Birds design is made up of over one hundred and forty-five thousand individual stitches and takes over four and a half hours to embroider. The jacket is then hand finished with green beads that run up the middle stem of each leaf, bringing the scene to life.
